EHCP support that feels clear, calm and manageable

I help parents with EHCP applications and draft plan checks, giving you friendly, legally informed support when you need to understand what to do next.

You may be in the right place if:

  • Your child is struggling despite support in school;

  • School says they are “fine” but things are falling apart at home;

  • You are unsure whether the legal threshold for assessment may be met;

  • You have a draft EHCP but the wording feels vague or weak;

  • Professional reports have not been properly reflected;

  • You feel overwhelmed and need someone to help you work out what matters.

Helping you feel clearer and more confident with EHCP applications and draft plan checks

I’m Narelle, founder of EHCP Insight. I support parents with two key stages of the EHCP process: applying for an EHC needs assessment and checking draft EHCPs before they are finalised.

My background includes advocacy training, a Level 3 SEND qualification through IPSEA, volunteer experience with national SEND charity SOS!SEN, a business degree, and lived experience as a SEND parent myself.

This means my support is both legally informed and parent-friendly. I understand how overwhelming the EHCP process can feel, so my aim is to make things clearer, calmer and more manageable.

I specialise in supporting parents at two key stages of the EHCP process: applying for an EHC needs assessment and checking draft EHCPs before they are finalised. Whether you are at the very beginning and unsure how to evidence your child’s needs, or you have received a draft plan and want to make sure the wording is clear, specific and legally enforceable, I can help you understand what to look for and what to do next.

Apply well. Check the draft properly.
EHCP Application Support

For parents who feel their child may need an EHCP but are not sure where to start, what evidence to include, or how to explain why an EHC needs assessment may be necessary.

This may help if:

  • Your child is struggling despite support in school.

  • You feel school support is not enough.

  • You are unsure whether the legal threshold may be met.

  • You want help preparing a clear, evidence-based request.

  • You need someone to organise the information into a strong application.

Draft EHCP check

For parents who have received a draft EHCP and want to make sure it properly reflects their child’s needs before the plan is finalised.

This may help if:

  • Important needs seem to be missing.

  • The wording feels vague or weak.

  • Provision is not specific or quantified.

  • Reports have been copied incorrectly or watered down.

  • You want the draft checked carefully against the evidence.

Parent, York

"Narelle helped me apply for an EHC assessment for my daughter, age 7. School failed to recognise her SEN, but I knew she was finding things hard. With Narelle's help, we managed to get an EHCP for her that is fit for purpose. She is now thriving in school and receives the support that she needs."

Parent, Surrey

"Narelle completed a draft check of my son's EHCP. The quality of the report was fantastic. She had outlined lots of areas that weren't lawfully written, and contacted our local authority to get it rectified. Lots of provision had been reworded, and we would never had noticed had it not been for Narelle. Would highly recommend her services."

Parent, Staffordshire

"Thank you for the support you have given throughout the entire process. Your knowledge and genuine compassion to help our family made a huge difference."
